The term ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineering Council. Short and sweet, the higher the ABEC rating, the smoother the roll, the higher the quality and consequently, the higher the price of your bearings. ABEC ratings are given in odd numbers only 1,3,5,7 and 9. These numbers mostly refer to the degree of roundness of the inner and outer races of the bearings. Also, they have to do with the tightness of the components..... the higher the ABEC rating, the tighter the component parts.
