Maryland's got hills
I packed up and headed for Maryland Sunday
6/29/2003 for a fun run. First we headed for Ivy Nye's infamous
Reno Monument hill where I demonstrated my slide and ditch role
technique while trying to pass Neal on the right. Is looks so
cool when you are passing someone on the right with your wheels
right on the edge on the road up until the point where you start
to cut back in and your rear wheels slip off the road. Neal, Kim,
Jason and I had fun running the top until it came time for lunch
and the police showed up. The police officer was satisfied when
Neal told him we where leaving. He just did not tell him we where
coming back. Bob Swartz caught up with us in Boonsboro with John
(J-Sling) Smith in tow. We where ready to head back up when Bob
said the police had the hill staked out so John took us out of
their jurisdiction to another hill..
The Group (minus Jason)
Pay attention to the arch they must have built
it to commemorate gravity sports.
The panels read Speed Need

Everyone had a great time. Bob was practicing
for Hot Heels and I don't know if it is a sign or not but he spent
most of the time out in front, way out in front.

Both Reno Monument and now Speed Need hill
are both on the Appalachian trail so we had lots of hikers telling
us how crazy we are. Hikers that in some cases had traveled by
foot hundreds of miles with hundreds to go from Georgia to Maine.
They are trekking through the weather, the bugs, the bears, the
snakes and who knows what else without cold Red Bull and we're
crazy.
